Recent changes in Russian rules and regulations could have affected the normal course of business of Your company in Moscow.

The Moscow Migration Service warns that all representative offices of foreign legal entities, including those that are engaged in non-commercial activities, are now required to get personal work permits ("confirmations") for their foreign officers and employees.

The requirement for authorization from MMS has been imposed by the Decree No.2146 of the President of the Russian Federation dated 16.12.1993, and confirmed by the Order of the Moscow Mayor No.183-PM of 05.03.1999, and such authorization is to be received before a legal entity can hire expatriate employees.

In general the whole procedure takes around 1,5 months.

Charges for organizing and supervision of the process are 250$ for each person (VAT, government fees and disbursements are not included).
